Calling All Dawns

Following the outstanding success of last year's concert at the Art House, the Central Coast Philharmonia and Central Coast Conservatorium will again collaborate to present an exciting and uplifting work,Calling All Dawns, featuring the Philharmonia choir, Central Coast Youth Orchestra and many of the coast's finest young singers.
A song cycle in three movements: Day, Night, Dawn (life, death, rebirth): it features 12 songs, each sung in a different language and style.
Written and recorded in 2009, Calling All Dawns won two Grammy awards: Best Classical Crossover Album and Best Instrumental Accompaniment for a Song.
Interesting side note: the first movement, Baba Yetu was originally written for the 2005 video game, Civilisation 4, making it the first time a Grammy Award has gone to music written for a video game.
