Mozart's Requiem

Central Coast Philharmonia performed Mozart’s Requiem in D minor, K. 626, one of classical music’s most profound and enigmatic choral masterpieces.
Left unfinished at the composer’s death in 1791, the Requiem explores themes of mortality and redemption through its dramatic Latin text and powerful musical architecture. From the urgency of the Dies Irae to the poignancy of the Lacrimosa, the work remains one of Mozart’s most enduring and emotionally resonant compositions.
The performance took place at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Woy Woy, under the direction of Patrick Brennan, and featured Central Coast Philharmonia choir and soloists in a presentation that highlighted the work’s scale, intensity, and spiritual depth.
Soloists:
- Hannah Greenshields : Soprano
- Tovia Jakovsky-Coleman : Mezzo-soprano
- Warren Fisher : Tenor
- Alexander Sefton : Bass
