Lux: The Dawn From On High

LUX: The Dawn from on High is a 2018 work by American composer Dan Forrest. Structured in five movements, the piece explores various aspects of light through texts ranging from ancient liturgical chant and Scripture to modern secular love poetry.
Central Coast Philharmonia performed this expansive and contemporary choral work in collaboration with the Central Coast Youth Orchestra.
The concert also featured performances by the Central Coast Children’s and Youth Choir, local vocal ensemble Ebb & Flow, the Philharmonia’s 2022 scholarship recipient Mia Cross, and pianist Lilli Naulu.
