Hope & Consolation

This concert was conceived as a poignant reflection on resilience and the human spirit in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, during which we faced extended lockdowns that kept us from sharing music together for two and a half years. Now, there is an undeniable eagerness in all of us to join back together in song, to reclaim the joy of communal music-making that has been so sorely missed.
The concert will feature an eclectic program that artfully combines contemporary compositions by modern 21st-century composers Daniel Elder and Elaine Hagenberg with the timeless beauty of Gabriel Fauré's Requiem. This unique combination will create a rich tapestry of sound that will resonate deeply with the audience, embodying themes of remembrance, healing, and the promise of brighter days ahead.
Each piece was carefully selected to foster a sense of hope and consolation, speaking to collective experiences of loss, longing, and resilience faced during the pandemic.
With a shared understanding of the struggles faced, Hope and Consolation is not just a concert; it is a heartfelt invitation to heal, unite, and embrace the power of music to uplift the human spirit.
Soloists:
